There’s a lot of things to love about Fall in Windsor-Essex County and we’ve put together a great list of things you might want to try as you pack away those summer clothes and start pulling out your sweaters and boots.
The great thing about Windsor-Essex County is that there are things to do in the city or out in the countryside. It all depends on what things suit your fancy!
First and foremost – if you’re looking for a place to pick up some pumpkins, try grabbing some from a local pumpkin grower. We’ve got many options such as Thiessen’s Apple Orchard, Colasanti’s and Alsop Farms! In addition to the pumpkins, there are usually some other activities you and your family can take part in at each of these places – apple picking, corn mazes, tractor rides and grabbing some hot apple cider. If you have a sweet tooth, grab a caramel apple too!
Once you’ve gotten your pumpkins, it’s time to carve them… duh! And cook those pumpkin seeds if that’s your thing.
Things are still up in the air about whether or not halloween is happening this year but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a good spook at Scare House Windsor. This year you can even enjoy Chef Ryan’s Cursed Dinner. There’s no age limit so you can decide whether or not your kids can handle it!

If getting spooked isn’t your thing, why not take a walk through any of the numerous nature trails Windsor-Essex has to offer? From Point Pelee to Malden Park, you’re bound to find a trail you can walk, run or bike as the leaves turn colours around you.
Now before we end off this blog post, I think it’s safe to say that when the colder months come, the warmer desserts make their appearance. We’re talking doughnuts from Colasanti’s, pies from Riverside Pie Cafe, soups from Anchor Coffee House and more. Indulge yourself – ‘tis the season!
